Good-bye, and .. you know what? Thanks for everything.
I wrote this first part about a week ago, after the seniors had their last day.
"No doubt more than one reader has wondered exactly how goodbye is derived from the phrase "God be with you." To understand this, it is helpful to see earlier forms of the expression, such as God be wy you, god b'w'y, godbwye, god buy' ye, and good-b'wy. The first word of the expression is now good and not God, for good replaced God by analogy with such expressions as good day, perhaps after people no longer had a clear idea of the original sense of the expression."
Just to add, I read elsewhere that it means "God be with you until we meet again."
Well, then.
Good-bye, seniors. Good-bye, and good luck. God be with you.

This I write now.
Seniors, class of '07, I've really enjoyed each and every one of you that I've somehow stumbled upon anytime(s) these past three years, and for many of you, more, all the way back to middle and even elementary school.You guys have been a constant presence in my life, and it was comforting knowing I could always turn to you guys for help or advice. But.. now that you're going off into the world, I have to let go too - let you make new friends, explore the world, find yourselves.
I sincerely wish you all the best, and hope that one day you'll let me pull your rope (reference to Lucinda's speech) and that you'll want to pull mine too. Also, I pray you'll be able to find strength to deal with whatever life throws your way.

You worked hard to make your site scenic and serene but I see that you don’t write here much anymore!
I like to write articles about God and religion on my site. I want to help people to really get to know God, especially in these troubled times. Jesus gave us a message of hope that is in the Bible: 14 "And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." (Matthew 24:14) (ESV) I hope you get a chance to look at them.
